Biography

Using printed images of objects made by hand, Cowie produces a surrealistic work of cut paper/collage. Each image is unique, and he uses no reproduction process, instead treasure hunts for printed material in books, manuals and the like. "The objects we have made through history are my primary source. How we seek to understand the world by the objects we make is what fascinates me."

Jeff Cowie is a scenic designer as well and creates for theatrical productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional theaters across the United States.
